For 1.5 hours everything was from the past three years, but I just had to play the Bollweevils and the "Hurdy Gurdy Man" cover because I just remembered them. Although I think I was thinking of some other band's "Hurdy Gurdy Man" cover, a more noisy one.

Ting and Kate were 15 minutes late today; just before they showed up I started the 12-minute Mars Volta song, giving them ample time to settle in luxuriously.

March 3 - St. David's Day

Immediately after my two tests were done, Dr. DeLuca told us he was sick again and cancelled class. We're kind of worried about him. This class won't meet again for 2 weeks.

Anyway, there was a meeting at the station and I was able to play Welsh bands for a limited time. Unfortunately we only have the worst and most recent album by both the Stereophonics and Manic Street Preachers.

And John Cale, as Ross told me. And of course Tom Jones, Charlotte Church and Shirley Bassey. And all these people I've never heard of.

March 1

I couldn't do today's show because I have a midterm at 10 AM Thursday and another mid-term - take-home, due 1 PM Thursday, on which at least one of the six questions asks for an infinite amount of writing. "Thoroughly describe as many virus-specific mechanisms as you can which enable RNA viruses to express their gene products"? You do realize that we aren't working with a time limit here, Dr. DeLuca.

This is especially tragic because today was St. David's Day; if you remember your SAT analogy format, St. David : Wales :: St. Patrick : Ireland. I was going to play all sorts of Welsh bands. Well, there aren't really that many Welsh bands.
