Turntables not working again! Intense disgust with the situation leading to a relaxing of the rules and the playing of songs from not one but THREE decades other than the eighties, given that about 95% of the things I wanted to play were on vinyl and thus unplayable. The other two things were the two versions of "Frankie and Johnny" recorded 78 years apart by a fellow born in the 1880s and a lass born in the 1980s. This emergency situation necessitated the use of the Kill Rock Stars anthologies for Liliput, Essential Logic, and Delta 5.

The other saving grace was the discovery of "Sugar Kane" which is now probably my favorite Sonic Youth song. Also, I hadn't heard "Lonely" in forever.

Talking Heads and Joy Division songs were at the request of Melissa who wanted to know what they sounded like. Somehow this is the first time I've ever played Joy Division.
